Connie Newell is a California-based low carb cookbook author whose goal is to inspire you to eat healthy. She is committed to showing people that cooking and eating nutritiously can be educational and fun! She has been in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years and has read and seen on websites...let alone had friends live by this saying, "Your body is your resume." Well if having a perfect, well-toned body is the requirement for leading/coaching people on their own weight loss and wellness journey then she better stop right now and not coach people. She has been on both ends (being a personal trainer and having a nice body to being over 100 pounds overweight). She understands firsthand what people go through with weight struggles and wellness. She lived it for many years and changed her lifestyle and she would love to coach you so you can feel/think just as good as she does. It can be done. She is a walking miracle!

I love reading cookbooks, mysteries, self-help (inspirational), marketing and social media books that will guide me to sharpen my skills.
Why did you start writing cookbooks?
I started writing low carb cookbooks, because I went thru a lifestyle change that I will always be grateful for. I share my story on my website in detail, but in a nutshell I had a nervous breakdown in July 2012 and was sent to the hospital and then the psych ward, which I am not ashamed happened. I was placed on medication that made me gang 131 pounds in one year. Crazy! My depression and other health issues occurred during this time. In April 2018, I told myself this is enough, because I come from the health and fitness field. I knew what needed to be done, so I stopped "cold turkey" on all my medication, which I don't advise unless under the care of a doctor. I started preparing myself low carb dishes and weight started coming off. I lost over 100 pounds and still continue to have that weight loss as of today. I have a passion to help others whether it is nutritionally, physically, mentally or spiritually. I am exceptionally proud of myself of what I have accomplished.
Cuttin' Carbs - Healthy Living with Connie is a low carb cookbook consisting of 150 recipes. The author, Connie Newell, tells you about her journey of why she started a low carb lifestyle.
