What do you read for pleasure?
I love reading cookbooks, mysteries, self-help (inspirational), marketing and social media books that will guide me to sharpen my skills.
Why did you start writing cookbooks?
I started writing low carb cookbooks, because I went thru a lifestyle change that I will always be grateful for. I share my story on my website in detail, but in a nutshell I had a nervous breakdown in July 2012 and was sent to the hospital and then the psych ward, which I am not ashamed happened. I was placed on medication that made me gang 131 pounds in one year. Crazy! My depression and other health issues occurred during this time. In April 2018, I told myself this is enough, because I come from the health and fitness field. I knew what needed to be done, so I stopped "cold turkey" on all my medication, which I don't advise unless under the care of a doctor. I started preparing myself low carb dishes and weight started coming off. I lost over 100 pounds and still continue to have that weight loss as of today. I have a passion to help others whether it is nutritionally, physically, mentally or spiritually. I am exceptionally proud of myself of what I have accomplished.
