Just read Kate. Refreshing easy read and learned tons about the 1890-1910 Northwest America to boot. Loved the idea of depicting the Real Heroine Pioneers that built this nation. Can hardly wait to read the next in this series.
Just finished reading ALL of Author Dwight W. Hunter's Frontier Women Sisters of Destiny novels. Unlike the 3/25/2013 reviewer, I found no distraction in the skillful vivid descriptive writing style presented in Kate, Bertha, Lorrinda,Francine, Rita,Ruby, and Mei Ling.
I remained taken along with each pioneering heroine in her own rights and varied challenges, achieving her life destinies. Perhaps this series is best appreciated by the female reader?
I became enthralled with how much I did NOT know about my own heritage and American West; as well as how little homage and credit is given to the female input into winning the rights we Americans take for granted.
I am grateful to this author for taking the obviously vast research time he expended on telling the tales of how our West was really won.
