Danielle Singleton

After many years of writing poetry and short stories, while she was in law school Danielle finally decided to try writing novels. She wrote her first book, Safe & Sound, while in law school and published it in December 2012. Since then, Danielle has published 4 more novels and is working on a sixth.

Outside of writing, Danielle is also a lawyer.

One quirky thing to note: Danielle generally doesn't read the same kinds of books as she writes. Thrillers give her nightmares...unless she's the one who wrote it. Probably because she already knows all of the scary parts!

Smashwords Interview

How did you choose your author name?
I didn't...or, rather, my parents did for me! I don't use a pen name. What you see is what you get!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the United States, mostly in what people call the "Deep South." Do people still call it that? Well, regardless, I spent enough of my childhood in Georgia to call myself a Georgia native. But I was born in Florida and also lived in Alabama, California, and Texas.

My background definitely influences my writing. I am a Southerner through and through, so my characters say "y'all" when they speak and I think a lot of elements of Southern culture seep into my writings. That's especially true of my first book, Safe & Sound. I'm also a Christian, and while my books aren't targeted to a Christian audience, I think that my fundamental worldview shows in my books. Or at least I hope it does.
