Based in Cwmbran in the Gwent valleys in the ancient land of Cymru Wales, independent publishers, Daric Books, has been set up to champion sci-fi, fantasy and horror fiction with a Welsh flavour.

Wales is a land of myth, legend and mystery, a mystic portal between the Earthly plain of our waking hours and the realms of dreams, darkness and the unknown.

There is a rich history of imaginative fiction from the writers of this ancient land, going way back to Geoffrey of Monmouth, and continuing and growing down the years with the likes of Arthur Machen, Kenneth Morris, Alastair Reynolds, Tim Lebbon and others.

We aim to keep this tradition going by seeking to promote the ever popular genres of imagination.

Daric Books is an independent publishing company, set up by people with both a love of, and professional experience with the written word.

We also have a life-long love for the genres of sci-fi, fantasy, fantasy, mystery and the supernatural. We aim to use our skills and knowledge to help revive one of the great traditions of Welsh fiction, namely a connection with and awareness of the mystic realms which are merely one step beyond…
