David W. Boothe

Biography

David was born to Oklahoman parents and moved about due to his father’s profession, a contract tool designer. David has lived in ten states and counts some of his life lessons from this diversity. As a teenager David was active in Scouting and earned his Eagle Scout Award in 1972. David Graduated from High School in Midland Michigan and shortly after entered military service with the U. S. Army. Serving in the Infantry, in Europe, David met the love of his life, Manuela.

In 1976, David represented the United States at the Vierdaagse, The International Four Day Marches in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. A four day, 50 kilometer per day march while carrying at least 10 kilograms of dead weight to represent a fully loaded field pack. David’s team of eleven took 11th place and was awarded the Golden Cross; the medal is an official Dutch decoration that can be worn on a Dutch military uniform.
David and Manuela were married by a priest from the country island of Malta in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Indian Mission in Dewey Oklahoma in 1977. They raised two outstanding sons in Douglass Kansas. David Works as a Certified Manufacturing Engineer at an Aviation company where he is a Principle Multidiscipline Engineer.

David enjoys writing as a past time, practices gourmet cooking for his family, playing the occasional game of golf and assisting Manuela in the garden. David is also professionally published with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

David is an advisory member of The Wichita Area Technical College where he advises on academic criteria for manufacturing students. David has recently become a judge for the LEGO’s Mindstorm competitions.

David is the author of fiction and nonfiction books all published by Lulu and Smashwords. Titles: The Insidious War, Advice to Children, Schnitzel, The One Dollar Cookbook and Comanche Indische Rezepte.
