We called them Workers. Found as eggs on an abandoned starship, they are hatched, chemically altered, and trained to be the perfect servants of humanity. They do not question. They do not think. They exist only to follow orders, and perform the tasks we set them. After nearly ten years of servitude, something in the biology of the Workers has awoken. And it doesn’t plan on being a slave.
