This is a great read ,I have thoroughly enjoyed it ,the characters are quirky ,the story line is very different from what I normally read a few times it had me laughing out loud . I recommend it even if steam punk isn't your thing (I've never read one before) give it a go , I'm off to read book 2..

  • Awakenings: Book One on Feb. 29, 2012

In a future not to far from now it,s easy to imagine the world as it is in awakenings. The beginning had me slightly confused ,but the writing and story was so good I kept reading .The characters come alive chapter by chapter magic, paranormal, frustrating men, this book has it all and it,s a decent size read . I can't wait for book 2

  • Christmas in the House of O'Byrne on July 19, 2012
    (no rating)
Christmas in the house of O'Byrne It starts off with an in depth description of the magical O'Byrne house. Where over 70 of the family are gathering for Christmas There are many characters in this story all related and invited for the 12 days of Christmas, I did find it confusing trying to sort out who is who and who is a daughter grand daughter and so on as they are all very long lived and all at the house for Christmas. I enjoyed the characters and the ideas in this book a lot, but for me there were too many stories all jumbled together I could see a good 3 books in this one. There is a half a dozen main stories lines going on in this book, each tale is intriguing and has its own hook. but I felt like some of the plots could have been expanded and explained a bit more There is a lot of spice to this book,so I will go back and read some of the other books the author has written to see if she has continued or expanded their stories I loved Tickle the magical floor

  • Reign of Blood on Aug. 04, 2012

Reign Of Blood I received this book from the author in exchange for an unbiased review. I loved the opening line and the concept and was really looking forward to reading this book. Never Tease Anything that wants to eat you, - What a great line The humans are almost all gone the animals too , the vampires are starving and the teenage heroine needs to save her family. This book has all the bones of a great story full of kick ass bloody action scenes and touch of romance. The author has created a Post apocalyptic world full of different types of Vampires "Hybrids" created from a virus. The world the author creates is rich and full of bloody action & gore, once you get into the story. My expectations for this book were quite high, but I didn't like it as much as I expected to, editing is a bug bear of mine and there is way to much word repetition, example "Blood and Ichor" also the word "I" is used way to many times. For me I don't like books written as "Telling" or told, I like scene development where I can live through the scenes, not to be told about them I like to be there in the story, experience it with the characters, but that's just me and this book has had many many great reviews. flag
