Deborah Krider

Greetings ~
Thanks for visiting my Smashwords bio page. A lifelong love of books lead me (as most authors) to writing. I'm not ashamed to admit I use reading and writing as an escape from reality. The constant chaos moving around out there can't reach me when I'm immersed in books and writing.
Although I’ve always felt partial to reading and writing horror I really wanted to give my drama, Even In Stillness There Is Rhythm a shot. It was an opportunity to really work on character development, which for me is the most important facet of a story. I really like my characters in that story. Especially Johnny. He was a labor of love. How could I write about a man who is kind and sensitive, yet still a strong masculine figure? I think I pulled it off okay. You can read 40% of my novel for free on this site, and please check out my other stories, My Sister Shelby story about a young girl in the lazy summer of 1976, and Vamp.0, another version of the old legend.

Blessings and all the best

Vampire tales are always being revisited, taking on many different angles and shapes. Vamp.0 is another version of the old legend. Told with slight humor, our players include a Gothic bloodsucker, a clumsy loner, and a rotten bully. What a combo!

A fun read that moves along at a great pace. There are many great aspects of this story, but my favorite is the animals that come to aid our protagonist. Very cool!
  • The Zodiac Bar and Grill on May 26, 2010

Written with an Outer Limits-like feel, this story is wonderfully strange. It's well written, and the characters are sharply defined. When I finished, I wanted to take Bob out for a drink . . . as long as it wouldn't be at the Zodiac. Fun story!
  • Sissy the Vampire Hummingbird Slayer on June 17, 2010

A very funny story! Flying chaos! I’ll never look at hummingbirds the same way. Our unconventional heroine, Sissy comes up with hilarious ways and weapons against the flying bloodsuckers. And Sal, the crazy cripple, adds a tremendously funny dimension to the story! Sissy the Vampire Hummingbird Slayer is a unique and very entertaining story.
