Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I believe the independent writer is the unfounded voice of the people. They have something so precious and creative to say, and publishers can't always find those who can really tell a tale because they are driven by something completely different, sales. An independent author is driven by one thing, the need to tell a story that is from their creative and heart driven love of their subject. How much better can it get for readers.

In this time in the publishing business it's really a readers world; a storm of wonderful and talented writers bringing into the world heartfelt stories. I am in that group that knows, without a doubt, that my story is unique, fascinating and comes from a longing to share my love of the southwest and it's mysteries.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has created the opportunity for me to publish my novel into a world of multi-platform devices, making it available around the world! They guided me step by step making it easy to prepare my manuscript, and even helped me with promotion ideas and encouragement. With their help I was able to produce a very professional version of my novel in a very short time frame. Bravo Smashwords.... you are the best.
