I have found this series most absorbing. The author has created an exciting, thought-provoking description of Jerusalem of the first century. It has made me realise that so often we look at this period through 20th/21st century eyes. It has been a real revelation to me. I think I might go and read Josephus. Please keep writing.
While I enjoyed the science fiction of this series, I found the overall direction poor. The ending seemed to be a bit pointless. Some of the individual books I also found a bit rambling, particularly Nehemiah LLC. Some of the names of the characters are rather corny - Cardinal Richelieu (borrowed from history and from The Three Musketeers), Kruschev (borrowed from history), Jonathan Edwards (again borrowed from history). From a Christian perspective I found it strong on Morality but rather weak on Grace. If persecution is the main thrust of the book then the intrigue and politics almost justifies the persecution. I rather enjoyed reading them but was disappointed at the finish. Will there be a follow up to resolve some of the frequent outstanding issues?
