So glad the first three chapters were offered; that encouraged me to buy the book and find out how the story plays out. Let me just say, it just gets better from there. The descrptions are wonderful and help the reader to "see" the story. All of the main characters are developed and engaging. Although Josie is young and naive, you become empathetic with her and her situation. The brothers, Lucius and Donovan, are opposites but I found myself rooting for them both. Where they live and how they live is revealed in the picturesque imagery.
Can you tell? I enjoyed this read.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to be absorbed in a story as well as entertained.
