Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I began in 3rd grade. My elementary school took part in a Young Author's competition every year, and this was my first time participating. I wrote a short story about a girl whose dog was accidentally put under a spell by her uncle. This spell allowed the dog to talk, and the story revolved around the mischief that ensued. After that, I decided that writing was my purpose in life. It is the thing I'm most passionate about. My first and truest love.
Describe your desk
Organized chaos. I think my desk is a physical manifestation of the way my mind works. I will often start a project and put it aside until a small accumulation of papers and writing utensils gathers in a corner. I will eventually go through it and put things away, only to start the process over again.
My desk is also my happy place. It's where I spend the majority of my time. It's where all of my characters get to travel out of my mind and onto paper. I could live without a couch or a bed, as long as I have a desk and chair. It's the most important piece of furniture in my living space.
