How do you approach cover design?
Our approach to cover design is very much inspired by the story, as well as the creative input of the author. We have seen some very awful covers that have been designed, supposedly, by professionals that have little, if anything, to do with the story. A well designed cover should be a preview of the contents of the book and add to, not detract from, the story.
Do you charge your clients any upfront fees?
Never. Authors should not have to pay anything up-front to get their book published. We make our profit out of the proceeds. Many publishers do charge up-front fees to authors, usually for "editing," which amounts to nothing more than running a spell and grammar check on an electronic document these days. We provide editing for free.
