Smashwords book reviews by El Chupacabra Independent Press

  • Be Sarcastic: Revised and Expanded Edition on Aug. 11, 2012

Satire, sarcasm and irony as tools for use in everyday life. Although some people may disagree with the points made, the read is smart and entertaining. A must read for bureaucrats.
  • Strange Future: A 23rd Century Guide for the 21st Century Cynic on Sep. 10, 2012

Although it's interesting enough to read from beginning to end, I would not read it again. It's hard to shake the feeling that this would be better labeled as pseudo-Futurama fan fiction. There are some formatting issues, but don't let that distract you, you may enjoy it.
  • Last Days in the Desert on Sep. 24, 2012

A wild house party sets the mood for a day of hungover and generally foggy minded misadventures. Follow the group of girls as they find a few leftover surprises leaving them with some unfortunate things to take care of before everyone heads home. With proper character development and attention given to eliminate patterns in sentence structure this short story would be fantastic. Absurdly funny moments and situations make up for the style, though. The story is unique and worth a read.
  • The One Who Is Two (Book 1 of White Rabbit) on Oct. 15, 2012

Dark comedy taken to the next level. Squeamish beware. Although there are plenty of scenes that would qualify as horror, The One Who is Two never fails to remind the reader of the bizarre humor that exists in such grotesque circumstances. It's a page turner and that's what counts.
