Elizabeth Black, writer of erotic, paranormal, and historical fiction and a gifted speaker on the topic of erotic writing, is the author of The Haunting of Sandpiper Inn (Whiskey Creek Press Torrid, 2009). An Unexpected Guest is her second novel. Ms. Black’s stories have been published by Circlet Press, Romance Divine, Torquere Press, Xcessica, Xcite (UK), Scarlet Magazine (UK), Tit-Elation, and For The Girls. An accomplished essayist, she writes for Sexis Magazine, published by EdenFantasys. She was also sex columnist for the pop culture e-zine nuts4chic (UK) until it folded in 2008. Articles about sex, erotica, and relationships have appeared on the Alternet, the Ms. Magazine blog, Good Vibrations Magazine, Circlet blog, Sex-Kitten, Bare Back Magazine, Vibrator.com, EdenFantasys, and For The Girls. She also writes reviews for several sex toys companies.
Ms. Black won Best Short Horror Story with the Predators and Editors Poll Awards in 2008 for her short erotic horror story “Sweet Spot,” published by Whiskey Creek Press Torrid in its Monster Mash Halloween anthology. She came in 7th at the P&E Awards for Best Short Romantic Story for her short erotic romance “Mud Licker,” published by Circlet Press in its Like A Myth anthology. “Callipa the Stripper,” her erotic story (published by Excite) about burlesque in 1920s America, came in 4th place for the P&E Poll Awards 2008 for Best Short Story. She also came in at number 4th in the P&E Poll Awards 2008 for Best Author.
Ms. Black has spoken about writing—erotic and otherwise—at many SF/F conventions, including Balticon, NoVaCon, SheVaCon, John Con, For The Kids, Event Horizon, Viable Paradise, Arisia, Boskone, I-CON, and two Worldcons.
At home in New England for nearly a decade, she lives with her husband and four cats a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean.
