Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I have been writing off and on. Mostly beginning but never really ending anything. Most of them came from some ideas, mostly philosophical, spiritual, and somewhat idealistic ideas. For this book, my first book, I started writing early in the year because I wanted to make sure that what I was doing at my church, and being a minister, was recorded. After sometime, I felt it was a good idea to put this out in a book.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Our church, now called a Spiritual Center (Unity Spiritual Center in the Rockies), have been doing some changing in the idea of seeing ourselves more and more into what it means to be divine. If we believe we have the divine within us, then what does that mean to us? Is it just about finding our being or is there more?
I actually started doing a new way of praying first. As a Prayer Chaplain at Unity, prayer had been important and I felt it needed to be changed when I realized how I prayed to myself and others. I felt that my new type of praying was about praying within, which means that the power of the divine comes from within and not asking the divine power to come to me (as a channel). Being a divine channel has been what most of New Thought and Unity have been teaching up until now. I wanted to get this into a book, because I realized that this prayer was nothing like anything else out there.
