English Teacher X is a twenty-year veteran of many bizarre adventures in many bizarre countries, while working in many bizarre English language schools. He has worked in Russia, Thailand, Korea, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and has taught all ages from 2-year-old to senior citizens.
In the year 1995, a broke, burnt-out backpacker answered an ad in the Bangkok Post and inadvertantly became English Teacher X, living and working in nearly a dozen cities in half a dozen countries over the span of twenty year. English Teacher X describes, in raw and violent imagery, the life of an English teacher overseas, encountering dishonest and exploitative employers, degenerate colleagues, corrupt police, gold-hearted prostitutes and cold-hearted "English groupies", with drugs and alcohol for all, while questing in vain for the Authentic Cultural Experience.
English Teacher X follows up his debut book with this raw and vivid memoir of his first five years teaching English abroad.
In 1995 a young backpacker answered a newspaper ad and inadvertently became English Teacher X, working between 1995 and 2000 in seven different cities in five different countries, encountering exploitative employers, degenerate colleagues, and eager "foreigner groupies."
