Eva Blaskovic

Biography

An author, editor, teacher, and learning strategist, Eva Blaskovic primarily writes about the human condition, where her characters deal with adversity common in today's world, but she has published stories in sci-fi, paranormal, and children’s genres. In addition to multi-genre short and long fiction, Eva is an accomplished writer of non-fiction articles on parenting, writing, education, travel, how-to, and business.

In 2014, Eva received the Seal of Excellence for the Top 100 Certified Writers at Angie's Diary eMagazine (Netherlands).

Eva was born in Prague, Czech Republic, grew up in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Alberta in 1988, where she raised four children. She has a passion for music and numerous musical genres, has played eight instruments, and spent many years immersed in Taekwondo and Karate.

Current works-in-progress include novels Beyond the Music (companion to Beyond the Precipice), Druyan (fantasy adventure) and Ironclad (supernatural adventure), and a parenting/educator handbook.

Beyond the Precipice addresses issues of grief, abuse, and the power of unconditional love against a backdrop of the passion for music and the need to be true to oneself. It has received stellar reviews from literary professionals and educators locally and around the globe. The re-designed second edition of Beyond the Precipice will contain new content and be available in late fall of 2016.

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I teach at a specialized clinic and also mentor young authors. In addition to writing and teaching, my passions are weather, Indian food, gardening, and music. I have played eight musical instruments and spent many years immersed in taekwondo and karate. In my youth, I was an avid canoeist.
What are you working on next?
I am working on the fantasy adventure novel DRUYAN and supernatural adventure novelette IRONCLAD. Tabs with details are on my website.
