  • The Dark Gifts Birthright on Feb. 28, 2012

Willow Cross is an amazing author! I got this book, and fell in love with it. I can not wait to read more from this author. The story flowed and even though it was 263 pages, it was awesome. I wish it could have been longer since I did not want to stop reading it, but I am hoping this author will continue writing about Michael and Liz, and all the other characters. I want to see where this book can go. I highly recommended this book and this author to everyone.
  • Unfinished on March 13, 2012

This book was an awesome read. It left me wanting more to read, I am hoping this author will maybe do a series with Jonas seeing as he "sees" ghosts.
  • Bubba and the Dead Woman on March 13, 2012

This book was funny and a great read. I love how the author put the thoughts of what the dog would be thinking about his owner or the owner's mother. There were times I could do nothing but laugh, this story had me wondering who could have done it, while at the same time keeping me entertained. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a little mystery with laughter.
  • Semester Aboard: An Urban Fantasy Adventure on April 24, 2012

I heard about this author through anothet author on facebook. I ended up getting this book for free and was amazed on how great of a book it was. It deals with magic and vampires and witches and so much more. It was hard for me to put it down, but I had too to get things done. I can not wait to read the next book when the author writes it. I really want to hear what will happen between Jen and Lord Whiskers, if she keeps in touch with the others, and if something will happen between her and Thomas! This was a great read for me and I highly recommend it.
  • A Desperado for Christmas on April 24, 2012

I was searching for books on smashwords and came across this. It was a decent book, only 64 pages long. Was a really quick read. This book deals with a border agent who is left to watch her post while her partner goes "out" but in reality he is going to do deals with drug smugglers. Kaitlin gets caught in the middle of illegal immigrants and the coyotes who are doing business with other border patrol agents. While in the midst of it all she finds herself in awe of an FBI agent who is there to bring them down.
  • After Darkness Falls - A Paranormal Story on May 01, 2012

An amazing buggy book lol. This book was set in West Virgina and let me tell you by all the books and movies that deal with weird stuff. I would not ever want to live there. Even though I am sure it is beautiful, it kind of freaks me out to wonder what creatures could be there. This author wrote a great story it had me from the beginning, as I started reading it I thought it was a cop thriller but as I kept reading and realized it was more about an alien type race I was intrigue by what was going to happen. It had an awesome plot and had a lot of action. Can not wait to read more from this author hopefully he has more books that will keep me reading like this one.
  • The Dark Gifts Inheritance on May 02, 2012

Willow Cross has out done herself again! I fell in love with the characters! Willow Cross is a genius when she writes! The Dark Gifts Inheritance is the second book in the series, and I thought book one was amazing, book 2 just amazed me even more. She went from witches and vampires in one book to werewolves in another. I see them all being combined soon! And all that paranormal romance is just wow! I can not wait to read book 3 in this amazing series! Because now I am hooked on "The Dark Gifts" the story, and the romance.
  • Night Marchers on May 03, 2012

This book was amazing! I could not put it down. In a way I understand were Emma was coming from when she was being moved away from her BFI! I have moved from mine so many times that I am so grateful that we stayed in touch. Funny thing is I live in Texas like Emma did lol so I could relate on some level, not that I have moved out of state just towns over. When Emma moved to Hawaii, I was just like wow, how nice would that be. The way the authors described it in a way I felt as though I was there. Now I am torn between Tristian and Kai. Tristian is one of those guys that you could fall in love with and is a gentleman who cares about a girl/woman's heart. Now Kai on the other hand is a protector and seems to be caring. This book is about how a young teenager and her father lose their mother when Emma was really young. They get on with their lives. When Emma's father gets a job offer in Hawaii Emma is very upset since she is 4 months away from graduating and she will be leaving her BFI. She adjust to the move when she meets Tristian, and he shows her the beautiful beach and surfing. He is a gentleman in every way and he cares for Emma. One day when Tristian has to leave she goes out by herself and falls asleep, when she wakes it is night time. And she has been told to not be out by herself at night. Then she comes across Kai who tries to protect her but she looks into the eye of a Night Marcher who tries to hunt her down. It is a curse that has been placed on her. Kai will stop at nothing to protect her since he has fallen in love with her. I will leave it there since it is such an amazing book to read. Hope I didn't give too much away. :D
  • Redemption on May 07, 2012

This book was as good as the first one. I could not put it down! I was amazed at the end of what Emma's decision was. This book was full of action right from the get go. The way the authors incorporated the love triangle was wonderful, some authors can not write it in a book quite right, but these 2 did a wonderful job. Redemption was a great sequel to the first book Night Marchers. Kaylee in the story reminded me a lot like my best friend. Always there for you know matter what. And I actually laughed when Paul said it took 3 people to hold her back from coming after you. If you have read the first book you understand why I would find that funny. I can not wait to read more from these authors since they are so talented. They have already gotten a new fan.
  • Feathermore (Feathermore Trilogy, #1) on June 12, 2012

Jade is your typical highschool girl. She is a normal teenage girl or so she thinks. That is until something tragic happens in her life and her world is turned upside down. She starts hearing voices that seem to be warning her of something or someone. On top of that she starts having dreams. Her two best friends are more than just friends they are there to protect Jade from demons and those that want to harm her. In this YA paranormal book you get love, heartache, angels, demons you get drawn into this book. Lucy is a terrific writer. The ending has a HUGE cliffhanger and makes me want to read more. I wonder what is going to happen next.
  • Final Hour of the Hunter Book Three in The Midnight Hunter Trilogy on June 18, 2012
    (no rating)
I was given this book from the author herself to give an honest review! I honestly loved, this book. Mo kept me laughing from the beginning with everything that came out of her mouth. Vampires, and minions, and underworld things are all in this book. I truly enjoyed reading about each character in their own little way. Though Hunter made me a little upset at times only because of the way he acts. When I Bonnie threw in the unexpected I was like WHAT oh wow. Can not wait to read in book 2 how this is going to turn out. I do have to say Mo is one of my favorite characters in this book because she speaks her mind and she doesn't care who it offends or what is said. She dresses in her own way and doesn't care about other's opinions. Now being pregnant myself I crave a lot of what Mo craves lol. And with the reference of chocolate chip cookies crumbled up underneath a banana, and I believe drizzled with chocolate syrup. Oh my that just sounded delicious. Thank you Bonnie for that hunger moment for me. :D Midnight Hunter is about a young woman name Donna who is in danger. She dreams of a man who wants her dead. Now she is thrust into an unknown world to her since she has no recollection of her previous lives. She is learning all sorts of things of what is going on around her. She meets a man name Hunter who wants to protect her, and in the midst of it all not what he seems. If you enjoy action, some suspense, the paranormal then this is the book for you. I honestly bet you will not be disappointed I know I sure was not.
  • Dawn of the Hunter - Book Two on June 20, 2012

I was given this book from the author for an honest review. The second book in the Midnight Hunter Trilogy was a book I could not put down. Bonnie has done it again with another amazing book. Dawn of the Hunter was just as intense as the first one. As soon as you go to the first page you are already hooked, Dawn of the Hunter takes place a few months after the first book. Donna and Hunter's daughter Lucinda is born, a new character gets introduced, and another character gets some book time and Donna fights for her daughters soul. I can say I was surprised about Howie and Cassie actually getting together. The relationship between Howie the weapons dealer and Donna is quite funny, because if though Howie is this demon well half demon I should say he puts on this front. And you can tell Donna cares for him in a friend type way, because she sticks up for him and even listens to him call her a stupid human. Hunter in this book makes me a little upset at him, because he thinks Donna can not take care of herself, and is overly-protective. But at the end he comes to terms that Donna can take care of her self, and her family. She is not a weakling. At the end of the book I am excited to see about Howie and how he will react to what happened. I can not wait to read book three in this trilogy. Bonnie is an amazing author.
  • Final Hour of the Hunter Book Three in The Midnight Hunter Trilogy on June 21, 2012

I got this book for free from the author herself, to give an honest review. Final Hour of the Hunter is at the moment I am asumming to be the last in this trilogy. I do hope the author makes another book that has the characters that have grown up and the old characters that have now important jobs. This book once again had me from the first page. After I read the second book I was so ready to get into this book. Final Hour of the Hunter takes place 2 years after the second book, Lucinda is still growing up faster than normal children because she has inherited her father's dark gift of being a vampire. Donna is enjoying her life now since there is nothing bad going on. Cassie, and Howie are together. Everything is good until, one day Donna drives out to get dinner from the store and she crashes into something. She gets out to inspect, and there is nothing there, but when she gets back into her car a woman is in the back with her hellhounds. Her name is Ursula she is now the next problem for Donna and her family and friends to deal with. Just when everything was going great. Mortals or humans can not see Ursula. From the time she meets Ursula everything starts going down hill, her friends start disappearing, the human world has gone crazy and has the disease. No one is safe to trust. I was sad that there was an ending to this book lol, everything was flowing so perfectly. If you are looking to read about more kicking butt, and the paranormal then please give this a read! I know you will not be disappointed. Out of this whole book I have to say my favorite little part or saying was this paragraph. "Howie clenched the latest cigarette between his teeth and turned to face Ian. "Stupid human, do you see the sign in the door that reads Howie's Gun Shop?" Ian nodded begrudgingly. "Three guesses who I am." "A Crazy mother f----?" All I could do was laugh and laugh. If you have not read the other two books I suggest you do it. Howie is trip all on his own. And is a great character that Bonnie wrote. I truly enjoyed reading about the children growing up and seeing the marriage of an immortal and a vampire, and getting little surprises along the way.
  • Wilted (A Witching Pen Series Prequel) on June 26, 2012

A SHORT lovely read. This was a great 30 minute short read for me. Wilted pretty much gives you some inside information about Karl and Elena and what she is told by her mother. Which if you read the novella The Witching Pen you get told in that one what happens if Elena has sex. You don't have to read this book first before The Witching Pen, but Wilted is a wonderful little story about the two main characters that are in the other book. This book is a little insight on Karl and Elena's relationship, and back when they were teenagers. You can just read the story and see that they love each other.
  • Ties To The Blood Moon on July 20, 2012

Will be reading this book again! I loved it. As soon as I started reading Ties To The Blood Moon, I did not want to put it down. At times I did find that it shared some of the same elements as Twilight with the vampire and the werewolf falling in love with the same girl but that is to be expected, also with the picnic in the meadow of flowers. But Robin made her own characters and their personality different, and unique. That this book is quite different than Twilight. I do wish that when Genevieve first transformed into a wolf that the author would have went into detail of how she looked exactly, the color of her fur, eyes. I kind of had to think about how she would look. Then when she transformed again at the end into a "new" form there was still not any description or detail on how she looked. Now this book has suspense, and action though out the entire book, and I LOVED that it kept you turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. I do have to say the author had me with William everything was building up to what the author put into the story. I thought I had it figured out and bam I was so wrong. This is one paranormal book that I see myself reading again especially when the second book comes out which I hope is soon. At the end the author gives us a little teaser and it just makes you want more. Genevieve is a normal teenager that is until her mother is killed. Genevieve then has to go and live with her Aunt Bev in Alaska, where at first everything seems normal but soon after things start to become different for her. Her Aunt Bev starts acting really weird and Genevieve can sense it, then she gets news that she is something more than your average seventeen year old teenager. While finding out all sorts of new things about herself and the people that are around her she starts getting feelings for one guy and soon feelings for another surfaces. Genevieve has a destiny to fulfill, and while she is fulfilling it she has gotten stronger and more skilled in fighting. She is willing to put herself in danger rather than her friends and hates when they don't listen to her. If you love the paranormal, suspense, love triangles, action then I really recommend you pick this ebook up. Another great perk to this book is that it is over 600 pages long.
  • Yesterday's Daughter on July 29, 2012

I received this book from the author to give an honest review! This may have spoilers. I truly enjoyed reading Yesterday's Daughter, there was action, comedy, suspense, and of course love. There were good guys and bad guys. Though the title did throw me off a bit on what the book was about I have nothing negative to say about it. The cover looks great I love the eyes that are on it. Yesterday's daughter is about a young woman named Grace but later on finds out her name is Sapphira (which I love the name by the way). Who is a vampire. She was raised in a foster home and never knew her parents. She works in a morgue and never knew of any other vampires. Until one day she comes home from work and finds Malachi in her apartment. Unknown to her at the moment, she is Malachi's life mate also known as a soul mate. And he knew of her parents. As their relationship evolves into love Sapphira learns that she is a guardian like Malachi and they along with the rest of the guardians fight harvesters. There is a mystery that the guardians are trying to figure out since someone has betrayed them but who could it be? I do hope that Sallie chooses to write another book with Sapphira and Malachi because I want to know what other powers Sapphira has, and more of the relationship between them too.
  • Project ELE on Aug. 02, 2012

I received this book from the author to give an honest review. WOW! Where do I start? First let me say I have never been disappointed with the books I have read from these authors. Every book they write makes me want to read more from them. That being said do you guys have book 2 available already? Because I am very anxious to read what is going to happen next, the ending made me want more. I was kind of sad that the book ended so quickly, I guess I should have slowed down my reading. :) Project ELE will keep you turning page after page just to see what will happen next. In Project ELE you will encounter characters that you will fall in love with. There is Willow who is in a shelter with her father and had to leave behind her mother and brother. While there she meets other teenagers around her age and befriends them. Claire who is very shy but starts opening up when Willow starts to talk to her. Then there is Connor who Willow had met outside of the shelter, but gets to know him better in the shelter. Then there is Alec who starts off as Willow's boss but then it turns into something else. As Willow, Claire, Connor, and Alec adjust to their new lives in the shelter they discover there is more going on than meets the eye. I do have to say I absolutely LOVED the way the authors made Willow's brother I just fell in love with the little guy, and even though he is a character in a book. I wanted to give him hugs and kisses because he was written to be so darn cute. I wanted to cry when the unthinkable happened. If you enjoy anything to do with the paranormal and people have powers then I highly suggest you give this book a try it is a perfect read for YA and adults.
  • 'Til Death Do Us Part (an adult retelling of The Little Mermaid) on Aug. 21, 2012

I received this book from the author to give an honest review. This book was a short 34 pages for me, but I could feel the love that the Aria felt through out the whole book. 'Til Death Do Us Part takes start where Aria is marrying the person she feels is her prince Simon. She made a deal with a sea-witch to be human, but of course we all know what happens when you make those kinds of deals.. There is always something shady. In this case the guy that Aria fell in love with was not suppose to fall in love with her. After they say their I Do's a thunderstorm hits and Aria finds herself taken to the ocean with Poseidon her husband from the sea. She deals with the heartache of not being able to be with Simon. Aria finds herself more human like than mermaid like and no matter what she will not be broken. She wants to feel love, warmth like the humans not be the one without feelings. This is not your regular Disney story with singing in the background, this is a whole another remake of that and it shows that you have to make sacrifices to those that you love even if you are the one that will be hurt by the choice. But if true love prevails than love will find its way back to you.
  • Leap Day on Aug. 21, 2012

I received this book from the author for an honest review. Each story was unique in its own way. I think the first story really freaked me out because I did not see the ending to be that outcome. Really freaky! The stories range from scary to bizarre and were a great read. If you have time on your hands and want a quick and unique read give this book a chance. You may enjoy it. The good thing about this book was you could put it down at anytime and pick it right back up.
  • Please DO Feed the Animals ZOO on Sep. 12, 2012

I received this book from the author to give an honest review. This was a very chilling short story. A dad who wants to spend some time with his son and decides to take him to the zoo. But this is not your regular type zoo, this is one that you would never want to go to if you knew what it really was. There is blood shed in this book so reader beware but nothing too gory or at least not to me. The dad and son realize that something is not as it seems with this zoo and the animals actually do eat humans. Will the father and son survive? Or will they fall victims to this zoo? You will have to read this book to find out.
  • Mobster's Girl on Jan. 12, 2013

I received this book for free to give an honest review. AMAZING! I have never read an Italian book before and I found myself at times trying to read with an Italian accent. I would have to catch myself. I loved reading Megan and Antonio's story and what Antonio did for his father. Mobster's Girl is filled with some action not a lot, a lot of little teenage love, friendship, and drama. I was hooked from the first page, and now I want to read book two for sure as I want to know what else is going to happen. There was a surprise twist towards the end that I did not see coming which was pretty cool. I enjoyed the style of Amy's writing especially when she would switch it up from Megan's pov to Antonio's pov. I thought the name of the chapter titles was interesting, as it told you the Italian verb meanings. Megan and Antonio's love will be tested on all accounts, but will stand up between the family? Antonio's father is the mob boss and that makes him the mob bosses son. He has his eye on the fiery red head named Megan and he has been hooked on her for years! But can they ever be together? Megan's family does not want her involved and Megan knows this until one night at a party. Opposites attract! Read the book to find out what happens next. There were a few editing errors, but I did not pay attention as I was too engrossed in the story to really care.
  • Baby, Species Intervention #6609 Book One on April 05, 2013
    (no rating)
I received this book to give an honest review. I do wish I could give this book more than 5 stars because it was one of those books that I just happened to fall in love with. The main character Netty, I felt for her on so many levels. With the abuse that she succumbed from her husband to her becoming independent and running her farm along with starting a business though still a bit weary of her husband finding her. She finds a creature who she falls in love with, names him Baby, and in a way he changes her life. She learns that she has to keep him a secret as he is not from this world. While taking care of herself and Baby, Netty finds a man in her woods that is almost dying. She nurses him back to health with Baby's help and in the process falls in love. But will he find out Netty's secret? And if he does, how will he react? You just have to read to find out. Netty's husband Robert is one very mean man and when he finds out Netty is on her parent's farm he stops at nothing to get rid of her. I can honestly say I cringed on one of the deaths that Robert caused. I actually re-read the part to make sure I read it correctly. There are deaths, and revenge but not in your normal way. This book is very unique and I highly suggest you pick it up and give it a read. Netty and Baby's story will pull you right in. I can not wait to read more as I can tell this will be a good series. The author has a wonderful imagination that came alive in this book.
  • Echo Species Intervention #6609 on April 05, 2013
    (no rating)
I received this book to give an honest review. Man oh man I was captured from the first page and found myself not wanting to put it down. You are taken into the future where the government is not like it use to be and everyone is pretty much poor. You will meet Echo one of the creatures whose brother was in book one named Baby. Also you will meet other characters Scotty, Abby, Jose who all play a big part. The way the author described some of the horrific things that one of the not so good humans named Armoni I was like dang! I felt so bad for the victims, it had me cringe. Which it is truly hard for a book to do that, but this one did. You fall in love with Echo being as she is so well evolved, but yet at times reminds you of a child. There are some type of gruesome scenes but they were not too bad. It does seem to me that those that are weak or hurt are the ones that seem to find these creatures that are named Echo and Baby. As in the first book Netty was running away from her abusive husband and she discovered Baby. Scotty running away from his home when his father stops by and starts fighting with his mom ends up finding Echo. So that part is very interesting. I did enjoy reading towards the end where Scotty and Echo go on rescue missions, I thought that was really cool how they help animals that need it. Now the very end where Echo says what her mission really is, I can tell there will be more. Thank goodness I have book three so I can pick up where this book left off. The only thing I would say about this book is that the way the blurb is written some of it was not in the story or if it was I truly missed it. Here is the part: "Having fallen in love, the young Abby and Jose draw close, only to be separated by the transcendental Netty, who tries to use Abby as a conduit in her plan to rescue as much wildlife as they can before despicable political events bring on the specter of Armageddon." Yes Abby and Jose fall in love with each other, I mean who wouldn't if you live together, but the part where Netty tried to use Abby as a conduit, there was no real mention of Netty using Abby
  • Armageddon Cometh, Species Intervention #6609 Book Three on April 05, 2013
    (no rating)
I received this book to give an honest review. Armageddon Cometh takes off right where book two left off. Only this time, Abbey has a mission that she has to accomplish since Netty and Baby visited her and told her to save as many animals as she can! Pretty much the end is coming. Not only that Jose really finds out what happened to his family back in Mexico and what will he do with this information? Will it make him stronger, or break him down? Scotty is feeling a bit left out as Abbey has Jose but he has no one, to really talk to especially with his new body changes! But then he meets Chloe, and he finds he can talk with her and he has a bit of a crush. But Chloe is the daughter of Omar who is running for president so she is kept kind of secluded. There is a whole story right here with Omar, his wife and his presidency. Abbey is starting to feel the stress of everything that she is suppose to do, and confides into Captain Cobby and his son Kane. While Jose is trying to find his adoptive mother and sisters. Their lawyer Peter has a lot more to do now, especially with Abbey's new mission. But one night he goes out and meets Ginger Mae, but what does Ginger Mae have up her sleeve? Or should I say skirt? Armoni is still after the group, and is using a woman to get close to them to find out where they are at. He is going to stop at nothing to get them. Even hurt those that know them, but will they ever be the same once Armoni is through with them? Echo is still as cute as she is described! I have to say my favorite part with her is when she is supporting her sunglasses like a dude and has her fanny pack on. We all know the fanny pack went out decades ago, but hey Echo is bringing it back lol. The plot and side stories will leave you wanting more! This along with book one and book two is must read! Go out and get your copies now, you will so not be disappointed.
  • Hive, Species Intervention #6609, Book Four on April 05, 2013
    (no rating)
I received this book to give an honest review. First let me say I LOVE this cover! I love elephants they are one of my favorite creatures, and the way this cover is drawn just makes me get all giddy inside. Now that aside let me get on with my review. I honestly believe that J.K. Accinni could be a bestselling author! The way she can weave a story and tell it is just stupendous. I have not been disappointed with her books at all and after reading the Hive I am so wanting more. I want to know who this stranger is that is in the background of the Hive, what is Netty and the gang up to while sneaking off, will Kenya ever have her baby, will the new characters Lorna and her grandbabies ever be reunited with her husband Clyde? Even though there were a few grammar mistakes the book overall was wonderful. This author once again captures you from the first page and leaves you wanting more at the very end. The same people that were in book 3 Armageddon Cometh are in here along with new characters and of course old characters from book 1! Echo, Abby, Scotty, Jose, Chole, Peter, Ginger Mae her daughter Daisy, Kenya, Captain Cobby, and his son Kane are all on a race of time to get to where they need to go with the animals before something horrible happens. While traveling they end up meeting a group of people that are transporting elephants to the Bronx Zoo. Will they ever make it to the Hive before the unthinkable hits? Will they all be able to adjust living in the Hive, and be okay with what the Hive has to offer them. Something creepy happens to everyone even the animals while they sleep and that has me intrigued on what is the Hive really doing. Baby and Echo get to reunite and it is so sweet to see them together. There are new characters that will come into play and let me tell you my heart literally broke for them. Lorna, Jen, Susie, and the hitchhiker they picked up (which plays a small part) I found myself just gasping and hoping that at the end they will be okay. They themselves pick up someone named Seth is not at all who he seems to be. What he did I just can not explain, lets just say he was very gruesome, and I could see why the Hive wants to get rid of all humans. Hell I would want to get rid of them too. I have to say there was one part that truly got to me and I just re-read the part to make sure I read it right. But it got to me literally because what kind of monster or monsters in this case could do this. "On the side of the road they noticed a crowd of jeering men and boys. Driving by slowly, Lorna witnessed a man on top of a young woman. Her clothes lay strewn on the ground as they man raped her. Two other men stood with their pants at their ankles........ What looked to be the victim's car stood nearby with the doors wide open, her purse on the ground and a child strapped in his car seat alone in the back." Being a mom that is one of my worst fears, something like that happening it just really made me cringe. I am interested in this "The One" business and the tiger Caesar, he seems to have become quite protective of Scotty and I really would like to know why. I enjoyed reading the details of the Hive and what the Hive gives to everyone there. Especially the animals. These series of books are a dark type of read. I would not recommend this book to those of a younger audience, I would recommend this for more of a Mature audience as there are parts that make you cringe and truly wonder about the human race. If you enjoy a Sci-fi, dystopian type book or series, then go and get your copy now! You will not be disappointed.
  • Winter Fae on June 21, 2013

This was a really short read. Pretty much it is a prequel to the next book Armored Hearts and it is all about the fae. Pretty much a fairy princess gives up being a heir to live in the human world. Now she learns things are not what she was expecting and wants to return home. But what did it cost her to live with the humans? Can she be forgiven? She needs her mother to help not only herself but her son as well, can her mother do it? This was a great prequel to get you ready for Armored Hearts and the ending makes me for sure want to read the next book. I want to know what is going to happen with Ansleigh's son Tristan!
  • Mile Marker on Jan. 21, 2014

I really like books about serial killers and this was a short short read like 32 pages give or take. Pretty much you meet a normal guy not much is really known about him. You do not get much detail. He is our serial killer just a normal looking guy or at least you think he is. All you know is he is walking on the side of the road when a trooper passes him. After that he continues on his way, but he doesn't know what is up ahead. The only reason I am giving this book a solid 5 stars and a 4 is because of the scene in the car between our serial killer and someone else. It was just way to cool for me. I know sounds really silly but it was. If you are looking for a quick 30 minute read if that then I say give this book a try.
  • Alien Species Intervention Books 1-3 on March 10, 2014

If you like to read about how humans have ruined the world and the Hive (which you will be introduced to) is ready to start over then this is a book for you. You meet Baby who is an alien and you get a chance to know who Baby is and what he is. You get to meet other characters such as Netty and Wil. This all in the first book. The second book you go forward in time and meet other characters and find a new alien named Echo. Echo takes on a mission with the help of some humans who have had horrible things happen to them. There are times in the books that you will want to smack the bad humans and it makes you feel sick as to how they act, on top of that you want to know what is going on inside of their head. I highly suggest you read this series and get sucked into the world of Baby, Echo, the Elders and the plan that the Hive has for Earth and the Humans.
  • My Name on May 03, 2014

What can I say, this author has a sense of humor and it shows in her writing. The short story started off great, and when I got to the end I had to go back and re-read to make sure I didn't understood what happened. Even though it was twisted and humorous I have to give the book a 4 1/2 wine glass rating being as it was too short to write anything else for the review. The ending will have you laughing out loud when you realize who the family is. :)
  • Into the Abyss on April 20, 2015

We received this book to give an honest review. I read this book to K last night and he seemed to enjoy it. It dealt with the ocean and I knew he would be able to connect with the characters as they were in second grade like him. Into the Abyss follows four young boys as they decide to build a submarine and find an abyss in the ocean. What intrigued them to do this is in school they were learning about an abyss and what it is. They have some very cool parents as they let them build a submarine and then take it into the ocean no questions asked. As they are traveling into the deep dark ocean they encounter different types of fish that live in the Abyss. When their trip ends I thought it was neat that they put a note on the submarine saying "Free to use." The story is very simple, so it makes it easier for the kiddos to enjoy it I think a lot better. There are no pictures which K was kind of upset as he loves anything to do with animals. So for him not to get to see them he wanted me to look on the internet for him. Though there were no pictures he did enjoy how they went into the ocean. Afterwards we talked about him going on an adventure and he replied with a scenario of if a vampire squid attacked his ship what would he do. This book brought out some discussions that was neat.
  • Hell Holes: What Lurks Below on Feb. 16, 2016

So I read what the book was about and figured it was going about sink holes and maybe a new world down below. I have already read another book about sink holes so I figured let me see what this author is about. This isn't sink holes this is something far more than that. There is another world opening up but it is one you don't want to be around. So I got almost close to a half in this book and when I was thrown for a loop of the paranormal I was like what? Wasn't expecting that and even though it was neat I started wanting to see more action without it feeling rushed. A team of scientist go out to determine what is causing these holes to open up near pipelines, but when they get there it is way more than they bargain for. Now it is a race against time to live and they have to put their lives in the hands of a reporter/mysterious person. We get to meet a lot of different paranormal entities in this book but this is where I felt it was rushed. We get it hit with one thing and we deal with that for a day or so (in the story they have to sleep some time), then it is like oh this is here and then this is here. It was like wow that was very quick. I have to say the ending left me wanting to throw my kindle (though I didn't) it is a cliffhanger. I have to get book two because I need to see where this is going. Will humanity survive? Will this person who has an idea of what is going on give us more answers on how to possibly stop this? You have to read it to find out. Overall a good short story.
