Sandra Davenport

My desk is a writing table brought at a used furniture store about ten years ago for $20. It is wooden, with stylishly curved legs. four feet long and 18 inches deep. Just right for my laptop, my lamp and my copy stand.

I grew up in Cornelia, Northeast, Georgia. Our neighborhood was and remains situated between two sets of railroad tracks. One going east-west; the other, north-south. I come from a large family that came from a large family. I have five sisters and one brother. We lived in a small house in a very small neighborhood: four rooms. Within these four rooms, lived two Grandparents; one Parent, three Uncles, three Aunts, and six Children. No lie! This sort of life forces one to dream constantly of other places, ideas, people, etc. My whole life influences my writing.
