Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I read that had an impact on me was probably an Enid Blyton work. Something like the Famous Five or the Secret Seven. I remember feeling like I wanted to be one of those kids, out there solving mysteries!
What do you admire in non-fiction writing?
My favourite writer is a man called Carroll Smith. He wrote a number of instruction manuals on race car preparation and the psychology of being a competitive racer. I admire Caroll's work because although it is factually based, he has injected the prose with his no-nonsense personalty. George Lois also writes in a similar fashion, his book are a hoot! In my belief there's no reason why you can't make information fun.
