Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote (that I can clearly recall) was entitled The Orfen. It was a grammatical adventure of eight year old spelling errors and morbid curiosities. The school assignment required we draw a picture to go with our story. My oil pastel abomination featured a girl being attacked by ear-less creatures (according to the story they were supposed to be wolves) while running from her family's graves and a surprisingly well-drawn skeleton. There was then a parent-teacher meeting.
What is your writing process?
Generally, my writing process would be so much better if I could write in the shower where I come up with some of my best plot devices and simplistic dialogue. Then I get out of the shower and it's all gone by the time I'm dry enough to use a computer or paper. Otherwise, the process usually involves a basic outline and starts with out-of-order ideas. After the first ideas are out of my system, then I can start writing from the beginning and bringing the whole plot together with more detailed outlining to keep me on track. Unless alcohol is involved.
