I am a involuntarily retired American history professor living and working in Manila for 25 years. I got a PhD in history in 2014, specializing in Philippine history. I have written history textbooks for Bookmark Publishing, as well as four novels for Smashwords. These mostly have been works of historical fiction, usually focusing on gay themes. Collectively, as of June 2019, my books have been downloaded 2,600 times. When i was retired, i decided to no longer publish under the pen name of Frank Medina.

The background of the impending war interrupts their lives, and the gay boy volunteers to fight against the enemy.
The story is both an erotic and adventure story, taking place in the late 1600s in the Caribbean during the age of piracy. Miguel is taken captive and used by a kind captain as his cabin boy. Yet he is no mere boy, he is skilled seamen, and becomes the ship's pirate leader through seamanship and combat. During this time, he has strange and funny sexual experienceswith women and men.
