When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend most of my time working as a nurse, working with my American Bulldogs and usually have my camera close at hand. When I get free time I like to go find things to photograph. Photography is like writing short stories with light pixels.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first thing I ever wrote was a poem for my grandmother entitled Silence. I believe I was about eight years old. The first story I ever wrote was a short comedy piece about the time my brother and the neighbor kid went exploring a beaver lodge and discovered a nest of angry hornets.
