As I near my 8th year in Nepal living as an economic refugee, I take pause. These years are flying by as I enjoy my retirement years in this welcoming country. I don't know how it's possible, but I love being here more every day. I wake up to lovely village sounds, bells from the nearby temple, children doing their chores before going to school and birds. Life is good.
We are launching a mountain bike rental project to fund our organic farming co-op. We are placing 8 mountain bikes at the entrance of Bhaktapur. We also host volunteers, do tree planting, as well as work and computer training workshops. After the earthquakes, we worked to help over 50 families to get into earthquake shelters and since then, we helped a local family build a real home.
