I'm a recently retired high school teacher and guidance counselor who has finally found time to devote to pursuits like writing and painting. Though originally from Prince Edward Island, my home is now in Barrington, on Nova Scotia’s extreme southwestern shore.
Prior to my teaching career, I was a meteorological technician and lived at a variety of remote weather stations. I have bachelor degrees in Arts and Education, a master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Measurement, and a graduate diploma in Education (Technology).
My novel, Approaching Storm, is set in Maine, a familiar state, similar in many ways to Nova Scotia, and it features a main character who is a school counselor— I'm writing about what I know best.
My release of a print version of Approaching Storm was very well received, and some readers requested a sequel (which I hadn't anticipated). After some thought, I wrote Storm Passing in 2011, picking up the story again six years later.

Storm Passing, though complete in itself, is the sequel to the novel Approaching Storm. The story is picked up six years later, as young Belle Lapointe reaches sixteen years of age. Abused as a child, she feels that unhappiness is in the past.
But Belle can’t escape her past. Once more, she finds herself among the hunted, and the stakes are far higher. Can insane revenge destroy her new family?
In the aftermath of the killing of a teacher, an elementary school counselor takes a young girl on the run, both from the murderer and from the police.
