Why did you write this book?
well, there were several reasons. As the son of a Protestant minister, I was always exposed to my faith. But as I got older, and had children of my own, I realized I had to decide what I truly believed, and why, if I was going to pass on a living faith to my children. Then, in 2007, it all came to a head, I suffered a very serious stroke and almost died. The doctors said I would never walk again and told my wife I would probably be in a nursing home the rest of my life. Two months later, I walked out of the hospital. I am still partially paralyzed on my left side, but I've learned to deal with it. You can't go through something like that without feeling God's presence, and I did. Now, after seeing all the horrific violence coming out of the Middle East, I am compelled to do something. to give back to the Lord who has given so much to me. If my words help in any way, even in the smallest detail the situation in the world today, then I will be happy.
What makes you qualified to write this book?
I think the best answer I can give to that is I am qualified because I am a normal person. I'm not a Bible expert, though with my background, I think I've been exposed to religion more than the average Joe, But I am just a guy. So I have questions that I am sure many other "normal" people like me have. I do not pretend to know the answers, but I do know the questions, and I invite anyone interested in their faith to join me in exploring them, so they can find their own answers. My opinions don't count, the only opinions that matter are those of the reader.
