Gary G. McGrew
Gary's found love for storytelling became apparent in the third grade. Each new story would be shared with the family and then, handed over to his grandmother, "Tiny" for safe keeping. By the age of twelve, Gary was writing for the movies! (The ones he would make himself with a rented VHS camcorder, anyway.)
Today, Gary continues to write and create independent shorts, but the way in which he does so has changed a bit. Instead of handing his writings over to grandma, he self-publishes. Instead of a VHS camcorder, he's gone digital.
Dedicating the past year and a half to writing full-time, Gary has developed a series of rhythmical reads that probe the fantasy, horror and science-fiction genres titled, The Town Series. Book One: The Town and Book Two: The Ghost Town were both completed and self-published in 2012. Book Three: The Town Circus, followed in March, 2013. Filling an entire community, the Townies are misfits, drawn together by a single gene. The clown gene. It's a story filled with characters who possess fantastic physical traits and engage in perplexing, peculiar past times. The Town eventually witnesses the birth of the first, full-blooded clown. A race whose existence and extinction were both erased from the pages of history.
As Book Four: The Town Square moves full ink ahead, a spin-off series has also begun. Each focussing primarily on an individual resident and expanding on what life has been like for them - from birth, 'til their death. (And their death, of course, is what Book Two: The Ghost Town is built around and where these two series cross paths.)
And in case you are wondering... Yes. Gary has already begun shooting and editing his own movie version of The Town as well.
