Houston, 2030: The Year Zero

A good police/crime novel, good if disturbing extrapolation of possible social, political and environmental trends. The central plot dovetails nicely into the larger civilizational situation. The major failing is the author's non-native use of language; it takes some getting used to the frequent incorrect word use and grammar, perhaps feeling like a Russian wrote it.
