Gerald A. Loeb

Biography

I am a retired US Army Captain, journalist and writer. I have published one novel (Wahoo Dan) and two books of Political Satire and Humor (see this page). I write clean books for a general readership. I DO NOT write about werewolves, vampires, zombies or unicorns. My interests in writing include non-fiction on current events and politics as well as historical and contemporary fiction. I lived in Europe for 15 years, which gave me a world view of politics, history and people.
A second novel, "The Perfect Glitch" has a publication date of October 1, 2018.

Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
I write early in the day and edit in the afteroon. I approach this as a real job and keep pretty much to a schedule. As for ideas, I find them on various media and talking to folks.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I won a contest in sixth grade with the first prize being dinner with the teacher. But the teacher left a week later, so I didn't get the dinner; but I knew one thing: I had talent as a writer.

  • Kentucky Naked on Oct. 13, 2016

This book is a well-written, thinly-veiled satire on Kentucky politics via a mystery story. Tish Moscow's writing is terse, to the point and handles the foibles of politicians in a highly entertaining fashion. Her characters are lively and at times as eccentric as the story line but the end result is a great read. If this is a beginning of a series, the next books will be winners as well!
  • My Donkey and the Master on April 26, 2017

I only have one complaint with this book. It is too short. Author JL Callison shows his writing chops with his second work. His knowledge of Christian principles based on his years of experience is well evident. Very few writers in the YA genre write with such authority and verve. Mr. Callison does. I tecommend his first work, "Stranded at Rumsin's Lodge" as well. This parable of fairh is well-written and applicable today, i give it five stars!
