When I was a child, after the rain fell, I’d yank on the nearest pair of shoes and scoot out the door. My mission? Rescuing worms washed from their muddy havens onto sidewalks to suffer their fate at the feet of indifferent humans. I’d pick them up and carefully return them to safety. My job as worm rescuer segued naturally into a career in public interest environmental law. I studied environmental law and policy at Rice University and Harvard Law School. I love dolphins, dogs, and diners but hate alliteration. And I’ve never met a dance party I didn’t want to join.
