Scott Whitaker

Scott Whitaker was born in Hapeville, Georgia, and has spent most of his life here. He has one daughter, Courtney, one son, Matthew, one grandson, Oliver, as well as Joy's five children, Carole, Ron and Don, Laurie and Jon. Between he and his wife Joy, they have seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He and Joy live on their certified wildlife habitat, with a rescue dog, four rescue cats, numerous chipmunks, snakes and squirrels, flocks of birds, three raccoons, and three 'possums.
Following a spirited yet unsuccessful campaign for Hapeville City Council in 2013, he is working on a memoir of that thoroughly entertaining experience. He is also preparing a collection of short stories about the city of Hapeville, expected out by late 2014.

A collection of intense lessons from life, this book is an emotional kaleidoscope of events that might make you laugh, cry, reflect, or become inspired. This is a fast-paced compilation of short stories and songs, almost entirely true, written while residing on a compact wildlife sanctuary, in a nearly unknown jewel of a town in north Georgia.
