J. T. Tylor

Biography

I have always done projects, small and relatively large on a single-person scale including many unique home projects, working on writing children's books and poetry, practicing daily Tai Chi, and pursuing music and classical guitar to the best of my ability. As with other authors, I hope my offerings may be inspirational, beneficial, and useful. Thanks for visiting my eBook pages. J.T Tylor

The world of eBook publishing has given those with unique experiences and perspectives an opportunity to share their ideas and creations in a professional context. This does require detailed preparation, diligent work, and preparation cost including creating an original work and an acceptable book cover, studying formatting requirements and learning the techniques necessary to submit an eBook offering successfully. Fortunately, Samshwords has given us this opportunity by offering extensive training materials, a sophisticated web interface, and the ability to publish works in various venues.

Thank you Samswords, and thank you again for your interest in my works. J.T. Tylor

Poetic inspiration was not a natural gift to me; even though over time, like most people, I had experienced a plethora of poetry worthy circumstances and personalities. But it wasn't until I came across poems by Robert Frost that some of my experiences tickled my mind.

I started looking for poems I could understand and that my brain wanted to struggle with memorizing and found ones like "Fire and Ice," "Once by the Pacific," "A Passing Glimpse," "The Road Not Taken" (of course), and other favorites by Frost; "IF" by Rudyard Kipling; "Sea Fever" by John Masefield; "High Flight" by John Magee; "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll; "The Naming of Cats" and a few others by T.S. Eliot; and "Bein' Green" by Joe Raposo.

Always challenged by memorization, pounding them into gray matter has been a labor of love; and to keep up perseverance as time passed by, I convinced myself that this could be a long-term test for dementia or even Alzheimer's. Of course, that just fed anxiety based on life's long-term, hide-and-seek, memory-retention roller coaster.

So, I found it better to enjoy the ones that stuck, while quietly resting before sleep or seeking a short escape from the world's spinning pace, to keep reviewing and wrestling with those that won't cooperate, and to keep searching for new ones to tickle the mind anew.

That has been my catalyst for attempting poetry; and the Heart Starts collection, a semi-gloss reflection in the light of a poetic master's polish, was inspired by life's experiences and inspiration from the circumstances of and the discussions with those I've known over time.

I hope they may foster joyful and/or contrary, contemplative thoughts. J.T. Tylor
