Bettina Busiello was born with an over-active imagination so she naturally gravitated to being a lover of all things dark, goth, and spooky. After having spent her youth in the Goth scene of Las Vegas (and let’s face it she still slips into that scene, just elsewhere) she discovered it proved to be a source of inspiration for the theme of her writing. Bettina is also an avid fan of horror movies, anime, and the supernatural genre of all entertainment mediums and is a girl gamer (yes they exist). Bettina lives in Los Angeles, CA with a menagerie of cats and dogs.
Smashwords Interview
What are you working on next?
Right now I'm working on volume 8 of my "Blame The Goth Girl" series. Though not on Smashwords yet, both 6 and 7 will be available for upload at the end of October.
Sex shop owner by day and paranormal investigator at night, thirty-something Onyx is thrust into the world of the unknown and the supernatural. When a typical haunting turns into a sinister murder, more about her true nature and what she was born to do comes to fruition.
Onyx finds herself immersed in the world of werewolves, incubi, vampires and other creatures she'd only read about. When the truth about her role and abilities make themselves known, a dangerous entity begins to influence those around her, wreaking havoc on the supernatural community.
Onyx is forced into hiding when her father, Marcel, breaks the magical barrier preventing him access to Philadelphia. Her only option is to stay with the mysterious Tokugawa clan in Kyoto, Japan. While odd events keep her on edge for the duration of her stay, back home, Rome and Esben do their best to combat Marcel while protecting Onyx, and the supernatural community, from all his evil deeds.
Upon learning of Rome's true role in the society, the fall out in the supernatural world begins. Tensions grow to insurmountable levels when Sabine decides to make her play for Esben, leaving Onyx to make an impulsive choice that affects everyone around her.
Feeling Esben hasn't fulfilled his duties as Onyx's master, Rome takes over the role pushing Onyx even further away.
After being abducted on Halloween night, Onyx is whisked away to Europe where she finally meets the elusive council Rome had warned her about. There, she's accused of breaking the rules, and a punishment is set forth which she finds she can't just talk her way out of.
Onyx's search for answers about her time in The Forest of Eternal Night is put on hold when Rome is made aware of those breaking the rules within the vampire community. It's up to Onyx to head to New York and sort out what's really going on— only to find her abilities are no longer working.
When Onyx is dragged into the faerie version of a rabbit hole, it's up to Lisbeth to rescue her before she falls victim to her mystery stalker.
Meanwhile, Rome attempts to discover the identity of the stalker with the assistance of an unlikely ally.
In this third installment of the series, Onyx finds herself amidst an attack on the werewolf community and more importantly, on her friend Nicki. While Elliot reaches out to an unlikely source for assistance on the matter, Onyx begins her training with Rome.
As Onyx becomes more aware of her abilities, she must put them to use to save her best friend from the clutches of a murderous incubus. This time, with everything out in the open, a hesitant Elliot shoves aside his disbelief to help her. Things go amiss when more bodies start piling up seemingly unrelated but speak to another potential disaster on the horizon.
As the mystery surrounding her supernatural abilities begin to unravel, Onyx delves deeper into the secrets of the paranormal world around her— only to reveal her true role in it.
Amidst a school filled with the progeny of the most prominent people in the world, Ophelia Everly is torn between two lovers in a place that appears like a fairy tale on the outside, but carries a dark truth within its walls.
