Harold J. Forbes

Publisher info

Writing under the pen name Harold J. Forbes, I am a thirty-something man living in the United States with my wife and four children. I am a Certified Public Accountant and former auditor currently working in the accounting function of a publicly-traded Fortune 500 company. While completing my collegiate studies, I also worked as a teller for a mid-sized regional bank. I have been a casual coin collector since I was a child, and began searching coin for silver in the doldrums of the current economic crisis.

I consider myself to be what many would call a prepper. Through my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church), I have learned the importance of being temporally and spiritually prepared for troubled times which may be ahead. It is these teachings which guide my writings, which you will find focus more heavily on practical preparedness than hardcore survivalism. While there is a place for learning survival skills, it is important to remember that you are unlikely to ever have to deal with a Hollywood-style disaster.

One of my biggest concerns is about the state of our economy and the stability of the currency. driven by the massive government debts we have accumulated and the ridiculously loose monetary policy of the last several years that has flooded the economy with dollars. This has led to a particular interest in silver, a true store of wealth and a form of money that cannot be arbitrarily increased by cranking up a printing press or with a few keystrokes on a computer at the Fed.

I choose to remain anonymous for several reasons. Many of my writing discuss my accumulation of physical silver and my searching through large quantities of coin for silver coins, which would make me a ripe target for thieves. Additionally, many of my writings may cause controversy in my professional life as an accountant. While I will discuss some concepts with friends and coworkers, I generally only discuss my writings with those that I am closest with.

I talk about silver and coin searching on my website at SilverInCirculation.com, on Twitter under the name @SilverInCirc, and as BillyOceansEleven on TreasureNet Forums. I also discuss general preparedness topics under the name BillyOceansEleven on the Survival Podcast Forums. Feel free to come talk to me or send me a private message on any of those platforms.
