Smashwords Interview

How does it feel to have Shadows at Inverness published?
Incredible! It’s actually pretty surreal. It feels like this book has been at least a thousand years in the making and at the same time it feels like I started writing it yesterday.
What inspired you to write Shadows at Inverness?
It was my wife Barbara who first suggested I write the book, although not necessarily this particular book. We had just gotten married, built a huge house, had three children, were taking care of my Mom after my Dad passed away, and ran out of money. Well, not completely, but the well was running alarmingly low. One night we were watching television and a commercial for a new book came on. Barbara looked at me and said, “You could do that.” “What?” I asked, not sure what she was talking about. “Write a book. You write well and we could use the money.” I laughed but once I figured out she was serious, I actually started to consider it. Fortunately the well didn’t run dry waiting for me to get it done, because it’s taken almost 21 years to get it published.
