Helen B. Henderson

A former feature-story writer and correspondent, Henderson has also written fiction as long as she could remember. Her heritage reflects the contrasts of her Gemini sign. She is a descendent of a coal-miner's daughter and an aviation flight engineer. This dichotomy shows in her writing which crosses genres from historical adventures and westerns to science fiction and fantasy. In the world of fantasy and romance fantasy she is the author of the Windmaster Novels, the Dragshi Chronicles, and the Tear Stone Collectors.

Smashwords Interview

Have you always wanted to be an author?
I inherited a love of reading from my grandmother and that translated into the flip side of the coin–writing. Recently I cleaned out the source notes and unused photos from my published columns and feature articles, and travel clips of now defunct events. What were kept were memories, and a large pile of material that forms the perfect research base for helping me plan the itinerary when I take people to worlds of imagination or to the Old West. And as to why I write fantasy? I love to hang out with mages and fly with dragons.
What is your latest release?
With the publication of the legend from the fantasy romance series, the Windmaster Novels, I thought the series was ended. However, two of the characters from the first book whispered in my ear that they wanted their story told. As a result, the tale of Kia, sister of the Oracle of Givneh, and Brodie, weaponsmaster of the Isle of Mages was written. Windmaster Golem was released by BWL Publishing and it, along with the rest of the series can be found at my BWL profile. https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/bwlhenderson
