A friend of mine recommended this, and to cut a long story short, I loved it! A near-epic tale of action, sci-fi, suspense and friendship set in a variety of worlds and times. Witty, thrilling and moving, and very well written. Several times I caught myself laughing out loud, and even more times I lost sleep over this book for just wanting to read one more chapter. Several stories and viewpoints weave and intertwine, creating a tale which is so much more than traditional scifi. If you liked "The Hitch-hiker's Guide"-series, you will love this.
I tried reading this, but it seems it never really took off. Quite well written, but imo quite laden with cliches and stereotypes. Good intentions, though, it seems. I may give it a go again at a later date, but for now, it just doesn't manage to grip me.
