Henry David Scott

I come from a long lineage of amazing and humble story tellers: both grandpas, my father, Uncle James, and my brother. We are a melting pot collection of the 'sophisticated hillbilly': German, Irish, English, and Cherokee! Our good looks come from the Cherokee side!
For as long as I can remember, ever since I was able to talk, laugh, and smile ~ I have carried on these family traditions. It's always been in my nature to want to share the gift of an intriguing story, especially when it warms a heart, or leaves the person in shocking amusement!

Needless to say, I'm an extremely creative writer with hundreds of stories for all ages!
I've written several children's books throughout the years that you'll now see popping up into the wonderful world of ebooks. My latest, "The Little Moon Kite" is a wonderful, heartwarming story for all ages in beautiful water color, and should be out in January.
I must admit, I had a total blast writing the true-life event collection of short stories: "Have A FedExcellent Day!", now available. It's my family tradition come true = the shock factor! A Humorous, Terrifying, Thrill Ride with a FedEx man on the job and his encounters with the adorable family pooch!

I'm grateful to have my wonderful wife, family, and friends supporting me throughout my journey!

Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh, yes ~
It was during the time in my life when I had to go on long, out of town, sales trips. I used to record on an old tape player my stories so that my little boy wouldn't cry and miss me so much. Then one night, as he was falling asleep, he told me to "just write it down dad... just write it". That's all it took for me to continue my lifelong calling as a creative writer! As I wrote his story "The Mossback Dragon", it actually brought tears to my eyes.
I should have this one formatted for Spring 2016. You can check some of the artwork on my FB page: Henry House Publishing
What is your writing process?
My fingers aren't fast enough to catch up with my swirling brain on fire, so to speak! I rapidly throw down the action, then try and organize. Usually it opens up a fountain of ideas for new chapters and characters. After I've got all the chapters / story board down, I'll get into the character development. Then rewrite a few thousand times adding more mystery or something for the "aha" moment at the end. Then I beg for a good editor!
