I was born and raised in Utah. I am the first born of three children to my mother and father, Byron and Janice. I studied at Salt Lake Community College, majoring in Information Technology and Graphic Design. I married Hayley Shaver, who is also a writer, and we have worked on several books over the past months.
I discovered my writing passion a year ago through working with my wife. I am a deeply religious person motivated by God. I am a fan of poetry and philosophy of all kinds and ponder it often.
I have read many contemporary novels along with inspirational literature. I love writing about inspirational stories that fill the human soul and writing about mythological adventures. I also love reading science fiction and fantasy works.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story that comes to mind is Harry Potter. I remember being deeply affected by the story. It hooked me from the beginning, by three dimensional characters. I instantly related to Harry and the difficulties he had in school. My heart yearns to read stories that inspire the human mind.
How do you approach cover design?
This is an interesting question. I have studied graphic design in college. I take my cover very seriously in terms of presenting my work to my audience. I ponder the true message of the book and translate it to an image. It is a creative process I truly enjoy.

Hayley and Keith Shaver have four cats. Using the cats' personalities as inspiration, Keith has put together a book of short stories starring cats. Together with their human owner these cats discover many different lessons about friendship, loss, trial and even love. The cat lover will enjoy several rules that cats live by. Hayley Shaver has written many inspirational cat poems for the book.
