not really a fan of autobiographies, i found FOLLOW MY HEART to be intriguing, annoying, fun, frustrating, and hopeful (partly because of the struggles, partly because of the writing style). perhaps it is because i, too, left my home country to live in a new one with barely a shirt on my back. in any case, whether experiences are similar or not, FOLLOW MY HEART engages you and brings into focus your own dreams and the costs involved. the style is staccato, sometimes stream of consciousness, occasionally random and unfocused - it feels like sitting and having a conversation over a hot chocolate. best of luck, frances, as you follow your heart.
