Igor Galynker


Igor Galynker MD PhD was born in Moscow,USSR. He received his BA from Moscow University in 1976, his PhD from Columbia University in 1982, and his MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1988. Dr. Galynker completed his residency training in psychiatry in 1982 at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. His specializes on psychopharmacology and psychotherapy of mood disorders and is the founder and the director of the Family Center for Bipolar Disorder at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. He is the Associate Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry in that institution and a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Galynker has authored over 200 publications and presentations and has written a richly acclaimed book "How to Talk to Families about Mental Illness." "Choosing Right" is his second book.
