What are you working on next?
I am working on a YA detective novel called Bangers & Mash in The Case of the Bludgeoned Butchers. The whole projects is definitely a departure form what I usually do, and is in fact inspired by stories and characters that I created for my kids when they were little and begging for bedtime stories.
Who are your favorite authors?
Clive Barker is my favorite by far, but I also like Stephen King, Bentley Little and Ian Rankin.

  • Dark Little Women: Girl Power! on Jan. 19, 2021

Twisted retellings of classic stories and characters can go one of two ways. They either fall flat or come out as an awesome new tale that leaves you wanting more. I am delighted to say that Dark Little Women: Girl Power falls into the latter category. All the main characters - Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll, Dr. Frankenstein, etc. - have been recast as women and thrust into an immortal adventure that you won't soon forget. each of the characters are so well imagined that you forget about their male originals. The story itself is ridiculously clever and filled with whip-smart dialogue. I cannot wait for more from these powerful women and would love to see V get her own spinoff or origin story. I cannot recommend this one enough.
