I moved to Atlanta, Ga in 1967 during my senior year of high school when my father was transferred to the corp offices of the Southern Railroad. I have lived in the metro Atlanta ever since, except for 8 years while I was in the U S Army from 1970 to 1978. I met my wife Blanche, who is originally from Ecuador South America, through a school friend while home on leave in Aug.1975 before I went to Thailand for a year. Her brother invited me to their house for dinner before I left for Thailand. I went and had dinner with Blanche and her brother. I asked her out the next day and the next and on the 16th of August, I asked her to marry me. She said yes and we were married on the 25th of Aug 1975. We have two daughters. Anita and her husband live in Brooklyn, NY. Monica and her husband live about 10 miles from our house. Monica has three children Ryan, Justin, and Britteny. In 1978, I left the Army and came back to Atlanta. We moved to our present home in the small town of Winder, Ga about eleven years ago. I like to paint, listen to jazz and one of my favorite singers is Frank Sinatra.

I started writing in 2010. A coworker was writing a movie script and ask me for some ideas. I gave him my ideas, which he thought would work in a film. Not his film, so I went home and wrote my own script. I came into a little bit of money and was able to turn my first script into a short film. Watch "The Final Sentence" by Charles Asbury. It's about fifteen minutes long and if you watch it, I'd love to know what you think. I'm working on turning the script into a novel. Also, I've been writing some poetry and I'll have my first book of poetry ready for publishing this coming spring.
