Smashwords Interview

What are your five favorite books, and why?
1. Lord of the Rings - Because . . . whose isn't????
2. Dune - A brilliant political/environmental warning that went unheeded and we're paying the price for ignoring . . .
3. Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - nine books technically, but the most beautiful use of language and prose . . . EVER!
4. Starship Troopers- the NOVEL by Heinlein, not the crap films!! A brilliant understanding of military ethics and honor.
5. Anything by Brandon Sanderson - Best damn writer I've come across in decades. Read anything you can find with his name on it.
What do you read for pleasure?
Fantasy mostly, though I mix in history and sci-fi just cuz. I am a sucker for stories that have a good mix of humor and adventure, both of which I try to include in all my own work. I'll read any genre, if it can put a smile on my face.
