When it comes to authors, J.J. DiBenedetto is a name that you don’t want to forget. He has created a masterpiece with his novel, Dream Student. This book is one that will grip your mind and pull you in from the very first page, and you won’t want to put it down until you finish reading it. We all dream, even if we don’t remember our dreams, we all do it every single night while we sleep. Could you imagine what it would be like to not only dream, but to be able to leap into the dreams of others around you? To see their fantasies, fears, and desires of the world. One would think that would be a wonderful ability to possess. In Dream Student, we are introduced to one Sara Barnes. Sara is a college student, and she is having some pretty strange dreams indeed. From the silly dreams of her friends in the dorm, to the fantasies of a man she has never met. Then there are the dark dreams of a dangerous person that Sara wishes she wasn’t dreaming about at all. Bound together with her closest friend and her new love, Sara Barnes is about to take a step into a reality that she has never known before. Throughout the story, we feel a closeness to Sara as she reminds us all of our college days. The final exams that stress students out, as well as the friendships, laughter, parties and romance that once upon a time, we all have taken part of at some point in our lives. Aside from the familiar happy and silly dreams that Sara has, she also has dreams of something so brutal, so evil, that even she wishes she hadn’t dreamed at all. Can dreams that we have become our reality? You’ll have to read this outstanding novel to find out just how exciting, as well as dangerous, dreams can truly be.
Dream Doctor on Jan. 19, 2014

In Dream Doctor, the 2nd book of his Dream Book series, J.J. DiBenedetto has raised the bar on his writing, and on our devotion to his creative masterpieces! Dream Doctor continues with the life of Sara Barnes, now Sara Alderson, as she has graduated college and moved on to Med School, and the life of a newlywed living on campus with her husband, Brian, whom we were introduced to in Dream Student. As with the first book in this series, Dream Doctor will have your full attention from the very first page, and you won’t want to put the book down until you have gotten to the very last page of the book. We walk through Sara’s life with her as she works hard for her new classes, moves forward in her happy new marriage to Brian, and then, we feel her emotions as she is once again pulled into the dream world of others dreams. While Sara tries to focus on her classes, she finds her friends in need of her help. This installment of the Dream series is very tense, and very emotional as we see Sara helping others cope with major life events, and as she delves deeper into the dreams of a possible killer. But just who is the killer? Or is there really a killer at all? As you read this book, you will feel as if you’re right there with Sara. Watching as everything in the world she knows and loves changes even more than it did in the first book, Dream Student. Sara is becoming quite the celebrity when it comes to solving the problems of her friends. So with page after page filled with mystery, love and bonds that last forever, we will all feel a bond to Sara and Brian and all of their friends, and by the end, we all know that amazing things can happen to all of us.
Dream Child on Jan. 21, 2014

They say the third time’s the charm, and this definitely holds true for the third installment of J.J. DiBenedetto’s Dream series. Following Sara Alderson as she now has not one, but three small children and is working as a Resident for Children’s Hospital. We once again get a chance to feel as if we know Sara in our own lives. In this 3rd book of the series, and my favorite thus far, we are introduced to Lizzie, Sara and Brian’s almost 4 year old daughter. Lizzie is bright beyond her age, beautiful just like both of her parents, and now as Sara has to find out, Lizzie has more in common with her than she could have ever known. Lizzie dreams just like Sara does! How in the world will Sara and Brian handle their young daughter having dreams as Sara has had for years? So, as in the previous Dream series books, we will be fascinated as now, not only Sara, but her daughter as well, are having dreams that will lead them into a possibly dangerous mystery that only she and those closest to her can solve. Will Lizzie be able to keep her dreams a secret from others? And will the family as a whole, be in danger because of the dreams? It’s enlightening to find a book series which makes you feel so connected to the characters. J.J. DiBenedetto is outstanding with bringing his characters to life through the pages. They become like part of our own extended family. Lizzie is by far one of the most outspoken and adorable characters that we have met so far, and I look forward to seeing more of her as the series continues. We have to wonder after reading this book, who else in Sara’s family will be affected by the powerful dreams that are being shared between mother, and now daughter, and how in the world will those closest to Sara handle what is happening? I anxiously await reading the 4th book in the Dream series now, as I am thoroughly enchanted with Sara, her beautiful family and the love they share, and the mystery that surrounds them throughout the years.

J.J.DiBenedetto’s 4th book in the Dream series is the most heart shattering, yet beautiful, of all so far. He continues with the life of Doctor Sara Alderson, and her beloved family. Sara and her former boss,Laurie, from Children’s Hospital are just opening a new private practice in Washington, D.C., and before their very first day of work is even over, a horrible twist of fate slams Sara’s world into turmoil. Sara is happily working, when she is suddenly being arrested and taken to jail for what is going to be one of the biggest nightmares of her life. Thrust into a horrid situation, because of a greedy woman, and a corrupt and self-serving Prosecuting Attorney, Sara’s entire life, and the lives of all who love her, are about to embark on a terrible and emotional journey that is far from Sara’s control. Sara has to call upon a man from her past that she loathes, but he is the only one who can help. Throughout the story, we find Sara, who has always been there for everyone else, now unable to face even her own demons. Be prepared feel your own heart ache for all that Sara must endure in this very raw, and very emotional installment of the Dream series. See her strength as she continues to help others, even while losing her own battles. Characters from Sara’s past become intertwined in her current life, and we begin to feel close to them just as we have Sara and Brian and the rest of her family. Dream Family will completely absorb you as you battle throughout trying to control your own tears as you walk right beside of Sara through each and every emotional scene. You’ll feel compelled to reach over and hold her close to you as she breaks down, and breaks away, from the demons that she has deeply hidden in her soul in this one. In the end though, you will realize that the love you have in your life, and the very existence of those around you, is what truly makes everything in this life, beautiful.
Waking Dream on Jan. 26, 2014

J.J.DiBenedetto has once again captured my attention as he continues with the Dream series in book 5, Waking Dream. This installment in the intense, yet humble and loving series, has captivated me and drawn me in even farther into the life of Doctor Sara Alderson and her beloved family. Sara is not alone in her dreams any longer. We now know that she isn’t the only one in her family who can leap into the dreams of others, but now, Sara is facing an unknown presence in her dreams. Throughout this series, we have fallen in love with Sara and her family. Her husband Brian, and their children, twins Ben and Steffie, daughter Lizzie, and adopted daughter Gracie, have become like a part of our own family. As each continuation of the Dream series has come, we have found that Sara will fiercely do all that she can to protect the ones she loves. To keep them safe from harm no matter what, and Sara now learns of a dangerous figure looming in the background of her dreams, and it terrifies her. It’s shocking to Sara when she discovers someone outside of her family who has the ability to be present in the dreams of others. This mysterious person could be a deadly danger to all of those that she knows and loves, and Sara must find a way to end the evil that this person is doing before those closest to her begin to suffer. Before she can do that though, she must find out who the person is, and why exactly, they’re chasing the dreams in the first place. J.J DiBenedetto will once again have you hanging onto the edge of your seats as you glide through the pages of Sara’s life, and delve deeper into her dreams than ever before. You’ll be utterly enthralled with Sara as she not only faces the new threats to her beautiful family, but as she once again has to face the fears from her past. Will Sara be able to eliminate the evil one from the dreams, or will this one be too much for her to handle? Filled with mystery and many surprises, Waking Dream will enchant you and will leave you looking forward to more in the future of Sara Alderson and the Dream series.
Dream Reunion on Jan. 28, 2014

Dream Reunion, the sixth book in the Dream series will have your heart and mind once again completely absorbed from the very 1st page. J.J. DiBenedetto continues to amaze with his beautifully told story of Sara Alderson and her family. We have now followed Sara as she has finished college, married and has children, and has her own private practice along with her old friend and mentor, Laurie. Each turn of the page brings us a new and exciting adventure, as well as a touching and romantic love story to be held in our hearts forever. In this installment, we follow Sara in the post days of the 911 tragedy. As with each other book in the series, Sara is doing her best to be all that she can be when it comes to her husband, children and extended family. As always though, just as Sara is beginning to relax, she once again starts having the dreams that will take her to places she never imagined, or wanted, to be. When Sara awakens one morning and realizes that she has just been in the dream of someone close to her who is about to commit a horrible crime, it becomes a race against time to find out what is going on, and how to save her friend before it’s too late. But, who is the friend she is dreaming of, and how is she going to stop them without letting them know about her dream ability? A non-stop, heart wrenching, adrenalin filled escapade into the life of the woman we have grown to love as one of our very own family members. As each page turns, our bond with Sara and the others become cemented in time, and we find ourselves wanting to leap into the pages ourselves and do all that we can to not only help Sara with solving the toughest of problems, but to also feel for ourselves the love that she and her wonderful family have for each other. We find through this installment, that sometimes, facing our own trials of the past, can help lead ourselves, as well as others, into a beautiful future.
