Jay Hersh has a Bachelor’s from University of Rochester and a Master’s from Rensselaer. After spending over twenty years working in the computer industry he was inspired to develop an interest in the history and culture of the Maya by what he experienced while vacationing in Belize. This interest has culminated in the writing of Mundo Maya: Revenge of the Jaguar King, the first in a series of novels which incorporate historical facts and legends of Mayan cultures into an enjoyable reading experience. Mr. Hersh is also working on a multi-part HDTV documentary-travelogue featuring archeological sites from throughout Meso-America.
While vacationing in Belize, a trio of American archeologists tour the ancient Mayan site of Caracol. While they are there archeologists at the site make a discovery which draws the trio into a search for a lost city deep in the jungles of Belize. In their search they find a priceless treasure and become the instruments by which the revenge of a long dead Mayan king is exacted.
