James C. Coomer
James C. Coomer was born in Evansville, Indiana and holds a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He has held university administration positions of Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean, College of Arts Sciences, and Associate Vice Chancellor for Curriculum and Research. He has served on the staff of the Mayor of a large metropolitan city and on the staff of a U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Coomer is the author or editor of four books, numerous professional articles, and over 100 newspaper and magazine articles. After a career of teaching and writing about political science, he now devotes his writing efforts to poetry and short stories. His short story, “Destiny,” was voted Best Fictional Short Story by the Gulf Coast Writers Association, in 1991.
He presently lives and writes in Norcross, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta.
