I was overweight for most of my life. Right up until the time I said, “enough’s enough”. Actually, that’s not true. I had said “enough’s enough” several times throughout my life and had tried, and sometimes succeeded, to lose weight; but I never had the conviction to keep myself in shape. I would invariably end up right back where i started – overweight and unhealthy. I was depressed, self-conscious and socially awkward.
Today, that is no longer the case. I’m in the best shape of my life and I’m happier than ever. My body, it seems, had a big influence on my well-being.
My determination to stay this way comes from how I feel. Being healthy feels good. It gives you self-assuredness and confidence – confidence I didn’t have until now. I know that if I ever go back to being overweight I would deeply regret it. I enjoy my current lifestyle. I enjoy going for long walks and I enjoy preparing and eating healthy meals. I didn’t need to give up great tasting food either - I simply eat smarter!
As a result of trying to lose weight several times, and having now succeeded, i have learnt what works and what doesn’t work - I’ve discovered the key to healthy weight loss. Through this book I wish to pass on the knowledge that i have acquired.
