The author has captured the urgency of emotions in those involved in the counterculture of the late sixties in the US -- both joyful and pessimistic. It was a pleasure to read his blending of facts, real people, and the atmosphere I remember. And the fictional characters were easy to care about and to root for. I highly recommend this book to anyone who lived through those days or for those younger folks who are interested in a very pivotal and dynamic time in US history.
